Pet Rescue North is constantly in desperate need of volunteers for a variety of tasks. However, we are currently
in need of volunteers for cleaning (yard and kennels)and feeding animals at the shelter. Recently, a few of our
workers graduated, retired (from PRN) or moved out of the area. If you are interested please contact Peggy at 477-1000.

A DOG'S BAGGAGE
Now that I'm home, bathed settled & fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed,
like to open my baggage lest I forget
There is so much to carry - so much regret.
there it is, right on the top.
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss;
And there by my leash hides
Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave;
I still have to unpack my baggage
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough -
for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
will you just look at my things
And take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me
To put away my baggage, to never repack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage
Will you still want me?

Welcome to Pet Rescue North,
Duncan's Web Site!
are committed to giving dogs and cats the health and well being they deserve. Join us in making Jacksonville a real
pet haven. Save a life - spay, neuter, adopt.
NOTE TO ADOPTERS
"Lassie, Cleo, Rin Tin Tin and
Toto don't show up in a Rescue shelter. We don't get the elegantly coiffed, classically beautiful,
completely trained, or perfectly behaved dog or cat. We get the leftovers. Animals that
other people have incompetently bred, inadequately socialized, ineffectively "trained," and badly treated. Most
Rescue dogs and cats have had it. They've been pushed from one lousy situation to another. They've
never had proper veterinary care, kind and consistent training, or sufficient company. They've lived
outside, in a crate, or in the basement. They're scared, depressed and anxious. Some
are angry. Some are sick. Some have given up.
we are an Animal Rescue and we don't give up. We never give up on animal. We know
that they are living beings, with a spirit, a heart and feelings. Our animals are not commodities, things,
or garbage. They are part of sacred creation and they deserve as much love and care and respect as the
next Westminster champion. So please, please don't come to rescue a dog or cat in the hopes of getting
a "bargain," or indeed of "getting" anything. Come to the shelter to give, to love,
to save a life and to mend your own spirit. For Rescue will reward you in ways you never thought possible.
We can promise you this -- a rescue dog or cat will make you a better person." Unknown

POOCH OF THE MONTH: MOOSE
| Moose Brussels Griffon
& Wire-haired Pointing Griffon Mix • Adult • Male • Medium
My foster mom is always calling me Bear,
because I look like a teddy bear. My foster family is always telling me how adorable I am!!!! I am 3 years
old and weigh about 65 lbs. I love to go for walks and runs. I am house trained. I love laying around all day on floor or
in my comfy doggy bed. I don’t get on the couch. I’m smart and learn quickly. I can sit on command. I love kids.
I like to chase squirrels, lizards and cats. I get along great with my foster families dog. I am super sweet and I have lots
of love to give.
Moose is neutered and updated on shots, heart worm prevention and flea prevention.
Special Considerations: No small children; No cats
You don't need to adopt to save a life! Duncan says DONATE!
